Hoffman Felt Voyager Claw Lug or Regular Soles
Our Hoffman Felt Voyager is made with our exclusive hand-laid rubber that will outlast normal pac boot bottoms. This combination of rubber and interlining layers of reinforced material creates a durable bottom that is second to none. For traction, we offer two sole choices: our Claw-Lug sole with stabilizing lugs or a standard lug sole. Our Hoffman Voyager features our exclusive non-twisting arch guard and reinforced toe cap for longtime wear. We attach a heavy 7 1/2 oz. oil-tanned leather upper made here in Idaho that is triple-stitched, glued and sealed to give you the most water-resistant felt pac available. The Hoffman Felt Voyager makes an excellent choice for heavy use in cold conditions.

I’ve had the Voyager Claw-lug boots for somewhere around 12 years now. I use them for sitting on stand rifle season deer hunting in PA. These boots have kept my feet warm and dry for 12 hour days year after year. I also wear them when we have big snow storms- over 8 inches of snow. They still look brand new. The only thing that I would do differently if I were to order new today is that I would go with 10 inch boots instead of 14 inch. When wearing these boots my old school heavy wool pants just barely fit over them. If I tuck the wool pants into the boots, it’s very difficult to draw the laces tight and it’s just kind of uncomfortable to have all that tucked into the boot. I hope this doesn’t get edited out: If you have an emergency and have to relieve yourself in the woods, good luck getting your pants below your knees when they are tucked into the boots. Finally, when you want to get out of 14 inch boots quickly, you can’t. If you had them tied tight, you will have to take your time loosening them up and un-hooking them. Take this all with a grain of salt but these are truthful comments from someone who is slowly but surely becoming a grumpy old man. 🙂 Unless you’re hunting hard in 20 inches of snow on a routine basis, go with the 10 inch boots. You will thank me. But make no mistake about it- Hoffman Pac Boots are by far the BEST pac boots out there.
