Rigid but tough boot. – I am an electrical lineman and use my boot hard. From asphalt roads to back county right of ways in the 100 degree heat to the snow we work in every condition and terrain out there, our job is keeping your lights on. When it comes to boots they are our most valuable recourse. I bought these boots about three years ago now and have to say when I fist bought them they were very rigid due to the double shank, so much so I had to buy a nice insole for comfort. Once I had the insoles they were fine I would say 6 out of 10 for comfort. as for the durability and water resistance they have held up to just about everything i have though at them. They are no longer water proof and the sole is coming off them but that’s after about 2 years of intense use. A few side points: I would not buy the steel toe again because it causes the leather in the front of the boot to wear out quicker and makes the front leather more susceptible to cuts. The insulation is good but not good enough for anything below freezing. These boots are very heavy and not the best for backpacking in that regard. Al in all they have been a great and very tough boot the water resistance is good and I would recommend them.

Awesome boot – I was a little worried when I read some reviews about stiffness and the boot being on the heavy side. Upon receiving the boot and wearing them at work as an apprentice Lineman for a week now I am blown away. I wear a 10.5- 11 in most boots and shoes so I ordered a size 10 and the sizing is perfect. They are not heavy at all compared to my other work boots and the rigid sole with shank does not affect my ability to walk with ease and comfort. I walk miles per day in these boots. When climbing I can’t even feel the stirrups of my climbers. There are no pressure points like Ive had with every other boot, these are the most comfortable thing I’ve ever put my feet into. Very stable, and extremely high quality construction and materials. Now I will see how they hold up. So far so good and I would highly recommend these boots.
