Been doing line work for over 20 years now, I bought a pair of Hoffman pole climbers after 5 years in the trade. I had started with Redwings, tried Wesco’s and both of those were good quality boots, then I discovered Hoffman’s, holy moly! My first pair of pole climbers were tough as nails and I wore them thru all weather and all situations, 2 resoles and I still have them! I did eventually get a pair of powerlines since they’re waterproof and work a bit better in the wet and cold, however the pole climbers are my go to. I recently bought a new pair and have worn them for about 2 weeks, they’re getting broken in and I know they’ll last a long time! I did notice that the new 10” versions have the Roughout lowers like the 12” versions, Hoffman may want to update their site. I actually like the Roughout lowers though, so no biggy, just expected the smooth out lower. These boots fit true to size for me, I’m an 11C on the Brannock device and 11D works just fine for me. I like how they’re traditionally made and they’re very heavy duty, don’t fret over the break in, once you get em there they’re absolutely perfect boots. I climbed in this pair for the first time after 2 days of wear, they performed as expected, which was awesome. Great boots, these may last me the rest of my career! Thanks Hoffman! Keep making these bad boys!
After many years of buying PNW boots (more than 10 pairs) from all other vendors, and sadly becoming disappointed with increasingly QC issues, I decided to do my research and look for better quality boots. I
So, very gladly I found Hoffman boots, and the boots are great! the quality is superb, they have the perfect fit and the materials are top notch... I put my other boots away and now just using my Hoffman boots, what a difference! No more PNW boots for me, for now on just Hoffmans, BTW, I got many positive comments by friends and colleagues. I already looking for a second pair, THANKS Hoffman!
